Abstract

|
World Health Organization (WHO) published its annual report「Global Tuberculosis Report 2016」 included the global burden of tuberculosis (TB). In the Republic of Korea, TB incidence was 80 per 100,000 population and TB mortality was 5.2 per 100,000 population in 2015.
Although TB burden of the Republic of Korea is decreasing every year, we still rank the highest in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries. In order to reduce the burden accompanying TB, it is important to implement ‘TB Free Korea’ program, aggressively and continuously.
